Gaudet Drops Their Latest Record, Solid

By John Mahoney, Artist PR

Comprised of homegrown New Orleans influence and a fistful of electric New York City flair, Gaudet is poised to unleash their latest musical effort onto the waiting ears of fans from The Big Apple to The Big Easy. Solid, a thirteen song genre blending collection of Gaudet’s finest work to date has descended upon the music community, and the group is releasing their record in style with an explosive bash at New York’s oldest rock club, The Bitter End.

As veterans of popular clubs and bars throughout the city such as The Knitting Factory, Sullivan Hall, Don Hill’s, Kenny’s Castaways, and many more, fans can expect an energetic, razor sharp performance from one of the best up and coming rock-pop acts in the area.

Formed in 2007, frontwoman Christina Gaudet pieced together a skilled lineup of musicians to take the next step in her blossoming career. Backed by her core band of John Zych (keyboard, organ, percussion), Eric Johnson (drums, percussion), Nate Stevens (bass), and Scott Thomas Ferreira (lead and rhythm guitar), the band quickly picked up the pace, writing and recording songs while beginning to take on the massive New York scene. Gaudet also features Jim Seeley (trumpet, flugelhorn), Khalil Curtiss (flute, tenor and soprano sax), Shenole Latimer (alto and soprano sax), Allison Rae Carlson (backing vocals), and Gloria Carpenter (backing vocals), who each play integral pieces in creating this dynamic musical powerhouse.

By drawing from a vast pool of musical influences and combining completely unique regional sounds, Gaudet is capable of generating a feel which can range from rock to pop to R&B. While Christina primarily writes and arranges all of the bands’ songs, Solid features three tracks written by Grammy winner Allen Toussaint, as well as appearances by renowned trumpet player Jim Seeley, who appeared on a Grammy winning record in 2009.
